Learning Centers

In 2002, due to the desire to realize the organizational vision and eradicate the phenomenon of poverty in Israel, Pitchon Lev inaugurated the educational center “touching the horizon”, which mostly deals with the education and emotional empowerment of teens from troubled families. Until today, we have successfully guided dozens of successful, annual groups, throughout the country. Some of the locations where we conducted the “Polishing the Diamond” course are: Max Fein high school, Tel Aviv; Ben Shemen boarding school; Ya’ad school for special education in Bat Yam; Ort Arad; Ort Beit Shean; and schools in Petach Tikvah; Yavneh; Emek Hefer; and more.

After four years of activity and experience gathering, in 2006, we decided to take another step, respond to the need that stemmed from the groups, by performing a breakthrough and accompanying the youths with a cognitive and emotional dimension throughout their adolescent years and their becoming adults who contribute to the community. Therefore, the empowerment program was expanded into a perennial plan, which accompanies the teens for seven years. The program has been in operation ever since and is highly successful.
