Learning Centers – Success Parameters
The “Mosaic” Program for Endangered Teens, in Cooperation with the Ort Network
Starting this coming school year, 2009-2010, the educational center “Touching the Horizon”, in cooperation with the Ort network, will activate unique educational programs for endangered teens. The program is meant for students who are in danger of dropping out of school and of social deterioration, and who are characterized by system adjustment difficulties, frequent absences, poor achievements, feelings of alienation and severe social and behavioral problems. In order to promote these students and return them to educational and social activity and involvement, there is a need for developing and implementing a unique intervention program.
The students are treated as a whole, and answers are provided in the areas of scholastics, the student’s emotional and social situation and also in incorporating the student’s family in the process. Moreover, the program will be held after hours and will be continuous to school activities, while addressing leisure time.
The program’s goals:
• Reducing both the overt and covert phenomenon of dropping out of school.
• Developing one’s sense of capability and strengthening one’s self esteem.
• Significant learning and scholastic achievement improvement.
• Materializing personal potential in various fields of interest.
